Where Do You Start: Spring Cleaning Tips to Keep Pests at Bay
Kitchen-
Your Kitchen Spring Cleaning Tips to Keep Pests at Bay
Your kitchen is filled with wonderful foods to keep yourself and your family well fed. But, it also holds a large amount of food crumbs that can sustain unwanted pests. Start at the top and work your way down. Clean the top of hanging cabinets and look for cracks that could be a way for pests like ants to enter. Don’t forget to look on the top of the refrigerator, where people put stuff and forget it. Then, do a deep clean on your stove, oven, and counters. Leave no crumbs behind. Clean out your pantry, wipe down your shelves, throw out expired or stale foods, and then organize it. Wipe down the outside of your cabinets. Sweep and mop your floors. This should get your kitchen clean and you will have the opportunity to inspect for problems.
Bathrooms-
Your Bathroom Spring Cleaning Tips to Keep Pests at Bay
Many Spring pests love moisture. And, your bathroom is just the place for them. Similar to the kitchen Spring cleaning, start at the top and work down. Clean blinds, light fixtures, and mirrors. Inspect and clean out those medicine cabinets and dispose of old medications properly. Clean and sterilize the counter tops and sink. Then, do the same with your bath and/or shower. Completing a full inspection around the toilet, sink, and shower will allow you to see if you have a leak. If you find a leak, have it repaired as soon as possible to thwart common pests like silverfish and cockroaches.
