Keep Your Dog Cool

Keep Your Dog CoolYour dog is probably one of, if not your only, best friend that you love to spend time with. You probably keep yourself cool during outdoor activities during hot summer days. However, sometimes you might slip-up and not remember to keep your dog cool. Here are some tips to keep your dog cool on a hot summer day whether you are going out somewhere or playing in the backyard.

Tips

  1. Never ever leave your dog in a parked car. If you’re bringing your best friend somewhere you should see if you can bring them into the place you are going to, so that you don’t leave them in the car.
  2. Take your dog out on early morning or late at night walks. It’s a great reason for you to get up early for a bit of exercise or to not sit down in front of the television when you get home from work. You might not notice it, but the ground does get really hot and it could hurt their paws.
  3. Keep Your Dog CoolIf you are planning to play outside in your backyard, you should freeze some large ice cubes for them. Your furry friend will have a fun way to stay hydrated and cool during their time outside. If you are going somewhere then you should make sure to bring water for you and for your furry friend.
  4. You should purchase a kiddie pool for your dog because it’s a fun way to keep them cool. Fill the pool up some water and your pet will love playing in it and they’ll be happy because they get to be outside with you! Make sure to replace the water if it starts getting too warm or add some colder water to it.
    1. If you do not have a kiddie pool, you can wet a towel and keep your dog cool with it. Just make sure to not only cool off the top of your dog but also their stomach and paws.
  5. A yummy way to keep your dog cool during a hot day is to treat them to some ice cream! You probably eat ice cream to stay cool and it’s probably not a good idea to give your dog your ice cream. However, there are dog ice cream brands which will help them stay cool!
